The final buyer of Palm is announced. It’s not HTC, Lenovo nor Dell. It’s HP. HP has not released any breaking mobile devices for a long time. HP said the mobile market is highly profitable and the acquisition would help to accelerate the growth. They think the unique webOS is great and innovative.

Jon Rubinstein, the current Palm CEO, will remain with the company after the acquisition. HP has bought Palm at a price of $5.70 per share of Palm common stock in cash. It’s around $1.2 billion. HP is being aggressive in the computer industry. If they have acquired Palm for stepping in the mobile market, we would see a great battle between Google Android, Apple iPhone OS and the Palm webOS.
